My more recent mainly digital photos |
DIGITAL PHOTOS |
Digital cameras started being on the market about 10 years ago, and were VERY expensive, and low resolution. Being a vegan this was though a great step forward, because old style photography meant using gelatine, as the film source. (Gelatine is made from animal bones from the slaughter house). I got my first Digital camera in 1999, the year of the Total Eclipse in England (Cornwall was about the only place one could, if it had not been cloudy, have seen this rare phenomenon!) It was a Kodak DC210Plus imega pixels and had a 2x zoom. My picture taking increased no end with this camera. No longer did I need to keep buying film, and having to wait for it to be developed and printed…..wondering if they would come out or not! Now with this digital wonder and my computer I had much more control over my pictures. Just over a year ago, I had a little windfall, when a company I had a few shares in was taken over by another and they gave share holders some cash! So I spent mine on a new digital camcorder, Sony DCR-TRV60E, This allows me to take movies on tape and the memory stick, as well as still pictures on the memory stick. I have been amazed by the quality of pictures I can achieve, particularly with close up. This has opened up my eyes to the small things, flowers, insects, etc You can see examples of these and many more in my Webshots albums. I have listed here all the public albums. There is a link provided to them here, my ID at Webshots is Philcovers, so if link fails go to Webshots and search for Philcovers. I also have a few other albums not open to the public. If anyone wants an invite please ask.
